“Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I’m a constituent calling from [Your City/State]. I’m calling to express my deep concern about the forced removal and detention of Andry Hernández Romero, a gay asylum seeker from Venezuela, and others under the Alien Enemies Act. Andry fled Venezuela to escape anti-LGBTQ+ and political persecution, only to be wrongfully disappeared to CECOT, a notorious prison in El Salvador, without due process.
The government alleged Andry was connected to the Tren de Aragua gang based solely on crown tattoos dedicated to his parents. These tattoos commemorated a Christian holiday festival in his home country. I urge you to take immediate action to demand the unconditional release of Andry Hernández Romero and others like him who have been forcibly removed without due process under the Alien Enemies Act, ensure attorney access and communication for all individuals removed under this wartime law, and call for an investigation on the use of wartime powers against asylum seekers and restore basic legal protections to those seeking refuge in the U.S.
Thank you for your time and attention to this urgent matter.”
